Texas police chase down escaped buffalo (Video News)

A buffalo that roamed away from home has been recaptured after being cornered by police in Central Texas in a chase through a residential area.


Investigators said they discovered the bison had made it past an electric fence and a barbed wire fence to escape its owner's property.

"Yes, two fences," police said in a statement provided to the Austin American-Statesman. "We are happy that no one was hurt. ... These animals are large, quick, and could do harm if encountered in the wrong circumstances."
